How to Earn a Yoga Certification
Once you’ve decided to pursue a certification as a yoga teacher, you’ll need to choose your school. Yoga Alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to upholding yoga instructor standards, by internationally distinguishing both Registered Yoga Teachers and qualified yoga training programs (Registered Yoga Schools). While there are many Registered Yoga Schools out there to become a yoga instructor, NETA’s 200 hour program is unique in its weekend modular format. Rather than making a large up-front monetary and time commitment, participants are able to accumulate hours as it fits their schedule and budget, all while learning from a diverse team of qualified instructors from across the country. Whether taking a workshop as a stand-alone specialty certification, or building toward the 200 hour distinction, the quality of training will equip participants to safely and effectively instruct.
Build your base: NETA’s modular program begins with Yoga Foundations, providing participants with a solid understanding of the history and philosophy of yoga, basic anatomy, and how to safely and effectively sequence and teach 20 basic yoga poses.
Expand your education: Throughout the course of the program, each stand-alone specialty builds upon this foundation, equipping the participant to address the needs of specific demographics while elaborating and building on the topics of philosophy, anatomy and physiology, and moving toward more advanced poses and sequencing.
Practice your passion: In each specialty certificate workshop, ample time is spent on practice-teaching with live feedback from one of NETA’s national presenters. This practice is essential to building the confidence of the participant as a practitioner in the field.
