Digital Credentials

Digital credentials (certificates and/or badges) are electronic (digital) versions of a certification or credential, which replace traditional paper certificates. A digital credential includes information such as who earned the credential, what the credential represents, how it was earned, who issued it, when it was issued, and when it expires.

NETA has partnered with Accredible to issue digital credentials to those who have earned NETA’s NCCA-accredited Group Exercise Instructor or Personal Trainer certification. Secured by blockchain technology, digital credentials provide consumers and employers with the ability to quickly and confidently verify the authenticity and status of a certification. Digital credentials also allow the recipient to easily share and showcase their achievement on a variety of social media platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook, as well as inclusion in email signatures and personal or company websites.

After passing the Group Exercise Instructor or Personal Trainer certification exam, and satisfying the CPR/AED requirement, you will receive your digital credential via an email sent by Accredible. This email will include a “call to action” button to view your digital certificate and badge. At any point after establishing a unique password, candidates may also login to their credential using their email address and password at https://www.credential.net/welcome.

If you earned or renewed a NETA Group Exercise Instructor and/or Personal Trainer certification after January 1, 2019, then the unique URL to access your digital credentials may also be obtained in your password protected customer history on NETA’s website at View Your Customer History.

Candidates completing the computer-based version of NETA’s Group Exercise Instructor, Personal Trainer, or Wellness Coach exam with ProctorU will receive a results letter and score report via USPS mail from NETA within 10-14 days of the exam. If a passing score was attained on the Wellness Coach exam and the prerequisite has been satisfied, then your official certificate will also be included with your results letter. If a passing score was attained on the Group Exercise Instructor or Personal Trainer exam and NETA has received documentation of an acceptable CPR/AED certification, then you will receive an email from Accredible containing access to your digital credentials (i.e., certificate and badge).

Candidates completing the paper/pencil version of the Group Exercise Instructor, Personal Trainer, or Wellness Coach exam administered by an independent proctor at the conclusion of a review workshop should allow up to 30 days to receive their score report, results letter, and official certificate (wellness coach) or digital credentials (Group Exercise Instructor and Personal Trainer). NETA’s office staff will make every effort to process your exam results as quickly as possible. Your results will be mailed via USPS First Class Mail. In accordance with NETA’s privacy policy, we cannot disclose exam scores through email, fax, or telephone. For those earning NETA’s Group Exercise Instructor or Personal Trainer certification, please allow up to 30 days from the exam date to receive an email from Accredible containing access to your digital credentials.
