Emily Ellison
Emily Ellison, MA, has been working in the fitness industry since 2004 teaching fitness classes and managing group exercise and fitness programs within campus recreation. She holds both undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Exercise Physiology. National certifications include Group Exercise & Personal Training, Spinning®, Schwinn as well as other specialties. She is the Associate Director of Fitness Programs for Cornell Fitness Centers, where she oversees the Group Exercise and Personal Training operations, as well as fitness programming for the Cornell University community.
Kim Nix Quinn
Kym started teaching group fitness in 1988. She is an ACE certified Group Exercise Instructor and Personal Training. She has completed her 200 hour RYT yoga certification. Her background includes work in fitness management, personal training, older adult and youth programming and has years of experience leading a variety of group exercise classes including small group training, yoga, Pilates, TRX and kettlebell.
Colleen O’Neil
Colleen O’Neil has worked as a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor for over 25 years. She earned her Master of Science in Applied Exercise Science through Concordia University Chicago. She holds Group Fitness Instructor and specialty certifications for Yoga and Pilates through NETA, YogaFit, and the YMCA. She also holds a Personal Trainer Certification through NASM. Colleen also is a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher and is currently working on a 500 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher Training. Colleen has worked in corporate fitness and employee wellness for 16 years. Her goal is to help clients enhance their health through exercise and education, and by incorporating a variety of exercise formats in personal training and group exercise. Mario Crespo
Mario, NETA’s Executive Director, joined the team back in 1994. With great vision for the company, he directed the creation of continuing education programs expanding into all areas of fitness. Mario has been the key ingredient to NETA’s unparalled success. He is always ready to take the company on its next business adventure. In his free time, he spends time fishing, working on his horse farm and horseback riding with his wife.

Marzell Gray
Marzell Gray is an Assistant Professor in the Applied Health Sciences department at the University of Minnesota in Duluth, MN. He holds a doctoral degree in Public Health, a Master in Business Administration degree, and Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. Marzell began his career as a personal trainer at a non-profit organization. He continues assist clients, while also working with the Physical Activity Alliance, and presenting workshops for NETA.

Samantha Hackbart
Samantha Hackbart, M.S. Ed. has a fitness career that spans over 8 years with experience in group fitness training and management in the community and collegiate setting. As an ACSM-HFI, ACE Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer, published research in the International Journal of Exercise Science, she brings a great deal of knowledge, creativity, and energy to the NETA team! Lauri Hill
Lauri Hill has humbly served as a health and wellness leader for over 20 years. As a master trainer for Neta since 2008 Lauri thinks outside the box when designing both group and individual fitness programs. She is the creator of equine barre and yoga, the only program of its kind. Through advanced knowledge and training she has expanded the traditional understanding of fitness and exercise to encompass wellness of mind, body, and spirit. Michael Iserman
Michael is NETA’s Director of Certification. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a B.S degree in Kinesiology and a M.Ed. degree in Applied Kinesiology. He holds accredited certifications through ACSM, NSCA, NASM and ACE. He has previously served on ACE’s Industry Advisory Panel and as the Chair of NETA’s Certification Board. In addition, he is a Past-President of the Minnesota Distance Running Association’s Board of Directors.

Jimmie Johnson
Jimmie entered the fitness industry in 2001, conducting personal training sessions and teaching group fitness and martial arts. His expertise and passion is educating and empowering his clients, and inspiring future personal trainers through NETA. He currently owns and operates Cambridge Mixed Martial Arts, offering professional martial arts training, Boot Camp and personal training. Tiffani Kelly
Tiffani Kelly, BA, RYT, is a Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance and holds her NETA Group Fitness Certification. She has been practicing yoga since 1998 and started teaching in 2002. Tiffani’s studied with yoga gurus Doug Swenson, Barron Baptiste, and Bryan Kest. She’s visited several Yoga Ashrams including a Sivananda Ashram in Southern India. Darci is currently NETA’s Director of Education. Matt Larson
Matt has earned a B.S. in Sports Medicine and a M.S. in Sports Administration with a focus on Exercise Science. He has been NSCA-CSCS certified since 2004 and has held positions including division I strength coach, personal trainer, and wellness director, Faculty-level trainer for the YMCA of the USA’s Foundations of Strength and Conditioning course, and adjunct professor for a local college. Jennifer Kramer
Jennifer has a MA in Health Coaching from the University of Maryland School of Integrative Health. She is a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach, ACE Group Fitness Instructor, ACSM Personal Trainer, 200-hour RYT and NETA Pilates Instructor. Her background includes coaching clients on metabolism, behavior change, nutrition, fitness, sleep and stress management. She currently teaches Cycling, Pilates, Yoga and HIIT for Plus One. Tina McAlpine
Tina started her fitness journey in 1995 on the University of Minnesota Dance Team and teaching group fitness while obtaining her BS degree. She is currently the LifePower Pilates Coordinator, as well as a trainer and group fitness instructor for Life Time Fitness. Her passion is to inspire others to be the best they can be and help them gain confidence in themselves. Nicole Griffin

Michael Lucchino
Mike has a B.S. degree in Fitness Management and earned his M.Ed. in Health Education from Pennsylvania State University. Sharon Moskowitz
Originally a Philadelphia native, Sharon moved to the Denver area in May 2017 with her wife, Katie, and two dogs. In Denver, Sharon is the Manager and Head Coach for Sloans Lake CrossFit. She is the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for the USA Wheelchair Rugby Paralympic Program, a curriculum writer and National Presenter for National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA), writing and instructing workshops.
Cathy O’Donnell
Cathy started teaching group fitness in 1991. She is an ACE Certified Group Exercise Instructor and Personal Trainer and a STOTT Trained Pilates Instructor. Cathy has been a National Presenter for NETA since 2006. In 2010, She began leading Laughter Yoga sessions and is now a Certified Laughter Yoga Teacher, training others to spread health and hilarity. Riley Peterson
Riley has a B.A. in Exercise Science and a M.A. in Exercise Physiology. He began his fitness career in 2002 as a strength and conditioning coach. He has held positions at the collegiate level and the minor league baseball level. He presently works as a personal trainer in Minnesota. Riley is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA. He enjoys educating and helping to change the lives of people he guides toward their fitness goals.
Deanna Reiter
Deanna started coaching in 1996 and became certified as a personal trainer in 2004. She has a B.S. and Master’s degree, and her certifications include: USATF Coach, ACE Personal Trainer, Group Exercise, Pilates, Yoga, BOSU and Kettlebell. She has been a master trainer with NETA since 2005. Deanna has written many NETA home study programs including: Dancing with Divinity, Movement through the Chakras, Running A to Z and the Ultimate Guide to Wellness.

Angie Schroeder
Angie obtained her MBA Sports Management Degree at Tiffin University and holds certifications in NETA, ACE, Zumba, and Tai Chi. Angie began working in the fitness industry 20 years ago and has continued to build her career through her own business. Jon Staton
Jon has been teaching for NETA since 2002. He currently works for the Tucson Unified School District as a High School Physical Education Teacher. He has served as the Department Chair/Assistant Professor of Kinesiology at Odessa College, Assistant Professor of HPER at Glenville State College, and Assistant Professor of HPER at Anoka-Ramsey Community College. He holds a Master’s in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota. He also has 50 graduate credits towards his doctorate. He is an active member in NSCA, USA Weightlifting, Livestrong & AAPHERD. Susie Supper
I have been in the fitness industry since 1987. Jobs include fitness instructor, personal trainer, program director, education director and a national fitness presenter. I have a BS degree in Exercise Science/Pre-Physical Therapy and a master’s in Management and Leadership. Jennifer Turpin Stanfield
Jennifer Turpin Stanfield is a professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance at Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. She received her master’s degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from The Ohio State University. She is a certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine and a Yoga Alliance registered yoga teacher (E-RYT 200). She also holds the NETA-PT and ACE-GFI credentials. Mou Xe is a Fitness Education Consultant at NETA. He is one of the knowledgeable and friendly voices you hear when you call the NETA office. He holds an undergrad from University Of Wisconsin River Falls and a MBA in Healthcare management and Human Resource/Business emphasis from Herzing University. He enjoys being active in his free time at the gym and working on his farm with his animals.
Jessica Predovic
Jessica is currently a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Marine Corps. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Exercise, Science and Physiology from California University of Pennsylvania and holds certifications from NSCA, NASE, ACE, NASM, and USAW. She began working in Human Performance with members of the United States Marine Corps in 2012 and has been presenting for NETA since 2019.
Cayla McAvoy
Dr. Cayla McAvoy is a graduate of Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!) who earned her B.S. in Kinesiology and then M.S. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Central Florida. Cayla earned her Ph.D. in Public Health Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2023 and currently is a physical activity researcher. She is an ACSM- Certified Exercise Physiologist, NETA Group Fitness Instructor, and 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher. Jason Anderson
Jason holds a BS in Exercise Science and is the Manager of Health and Fitness for a medical fitness facility in Owensboro, KY. Jason teaches group cycling and is a NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. He also is a Crossfit Level 1 trainer. Formerly, Jason was a faculty-level instructor for the YMCA of the USA teaching Y fitness certification classes around the country. Jason has a passion for fitness and for sharing that with others.
Ernest Kaehler
Ernest holds a B.S. Exercise Science from Minnesota State University-Mankato. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through NSCA and a NASM-Certified Personal Trainer. He currently works as the Healthy Living Director for the YMCA in West St. Paul (MN). Ernest is a faculty-level trainer for the YMCA of the USA’s Foundations of Strength and Conditioning course. He enjoys training and developing personal trainers to ensure their success in the industry.
Eli Barrett
Eli, a native Vermonter, has been teaching fitness, wellness, and life-saving skills for over 10 years. He believes that there exists a wellness experience for everyone and wants to help them discover it. He has a B.S. in Nutrition & Food Science and an M.S. in Executive Leadership. Eli has certifications with ACE, NETA, AFAA, TRX, Spinning®, IDEA, is a 200hr RYT and a Reiki Master. He is also a regional and national American Red Cross Instructor Trainer. Beyond staying physically and mentally well, Eli hopes that you feel a sense of community and empowerment from his classes.
