This home study course is based on the document, Step It Up! – The Surgeon General’s Call to Action to Promote Walking and Walkable Communities. The Step it Up! call to action focuses on promoting health before disease occurs by encouraging Americans to walk more as a mode of physical activity and provides strategies that communities can use to support walking. The Step It Up! document is publicly available at http://www.surgeongeneral.gov/library/calls/walking-and-walkable-communities/call-to-action-walking-and-walkable-communites.pdf. This home study course includes a workbook and a 20-question multiple-choice exam based on the Step It Up! document.
