Kids Yoga Specialty Certification
NETA’s ten-hour, one-day Kids Yoga Specialty Certification workshop provides a fun, interactive, and educational experience for teachers and fitness professionals seeking to bring yoga to a younger audience. This training explores the anatomy and physiology of child development, outlining physical and cognitive activities that are appropriate for each stage. Discussion on the benefits of yoga for kids and adapting the phases of a traditional yoga classes for a child population will be provided, with practical applications for teachers. Participants will learn the art of bringing story into their teaching, as well as additional tools for working with kids.
The Kids Yoga certification workshop provides an in-depth break down of 10 kid-focused yoga poses with multiple adaptations for each. Participants will learn the foundation, alignment, safety, and benefits of said poses, along with how to create and instruct a kids yoga adventure. An emphasis on breathing better and stress-management techniques is highlighted, equipping teachers and kids to recognize and manage emotions and improve social interactions with peers.
This yoga specialty certification will provide a sample yoga class for participants to experience yoga through story, as well as ample time for practice teaching under the supervision of an experienced yoga teacher. Upon completion of the one-day Kids Yoga workshop, participants are equipped to create and lead a yoga practice for kids.
Kids Yoga can be taken as a stand-alone specialty certification to achieve your yoga instructor certification and teach kids yoga classes and/or can be taken as part of NETA’s 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program.
