Yoga Strong Specialty Certification
Yoga Strong blends power flow yoga practice with exercise techniques to specifically increase strength and endurance, offering the discipline of a yoga practice and the intensity options similar to a challenging fitness class. This workshop will go in-depth into functional anatomy as it relates to the disciplines of yoga, resistance training, and cardiovascular activity, focusing on a foundation of Hatha yoga infused with exercises to increase aerobic capacity, muscular strength, and muscular endurance.
Participants in NETA’s Yoga Strong certification workshop will learn to teach a multi-level class with multiple intensity variations, breathing techniques, and traditional asana sequences. Ample time will be spent breaking down the foundation, alignment, safety, benefits and modifications of over 25 yoga poses; and the use of several types of equipment for traditional strength-training exercises and cardiovascular exercises, with the opportunity to practice both in personal movement and teaching. Additionally, participants will discuss and practice how to program and cue a blended format such as Yoga Strong, providing a holistic experience for students of all abilities.
This yoga specialty certification will provide two sample yoga classes for participants to experience different formatting and teaching styles, as well as ample time for practice teaching under the supervision of an experienced yoga teacher. Upon completion of the two-day Yoga Strong workshop, participants are equipped to create and lead their very own Yoga Strong practice.
Yoga Strong can be taken as a stand-alone specialty certification to achieve your yoga instructor certification and fusion-based yoga classes and/or can be taken as part of NETA’s 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program.
